Tumbleweeds Festival Field Trips take place on April 21-23, 2027!
Our field trips are designed to activate students’ passions by introducing young audiences to the power of filmmaking, creative problem-solving, storytelling, and media education. These field trips aren’t just about watching movies, they also provide a unique career exploration opportunity! This 90-minute field trip includes a film screening, followed by an interactive post-film activity! Plus, our corresponding Educator’s Guide, which aligns with Utah State Core Curriculum, helps extend the festival experience into your classroom.
Tumbleweeds Festival Field Trips are offered to Utah’s schools for FREE thanks to support from the Utah State Board of Education and generous community sponsors. We can even provide transportation funding, in the form of a reimbursement, to cover the cost of your bus!

Join Utah Film Center in a celebration of short animated and live-action films! Discover the magic and creativity of filmmaking with our collection of curated shorts, including Wolf & Cub, Hoofs on Skates, Dear Pelican, and winners of our 2025 Kids Film Competition! This 55-minute collection of films includes a variety of animation styles and live-action filming methods from around the world and our very own Utah community.
