Acting in the Movies

Have you always wondered what it would be like to work on a movie when you are kid? Now you can find out! Join youth actor Skyler Peters as he shares his stories and experiences of being in a movie. The audience will participate in a Q&A with Skyler, too!

Virtual Reality Filmmaking

Kids and parents can put on a Virtual Reality headset to watch a film in 360 degrees. The activity booth will be accompanied by 360 cameras, Spatial Microphones, and other VR film gear so people can ask questions and learn more!

DIY 3D Glasses

SLCo Library Create Spaces can be used to build, design, and print many types of creative projects. Stop by our table to make your own pair of 3D glasses and find out what else you can make in one of the Library’s Create Spaces.

Live Special FX Makeup Demo

Watch a makeup artist apply special effects makeup live just like makeup artists in the movies! Ask questions and learn how a makeup artist creates their designs.

DIY Mini Projectors

Make a mini film projector with Utah Education Network! Kids and families won’t believe how easy it is to create a mini projector using everyday items.

One Kind Act

One Kind Act a Day encourages participants to go and do a kind act while at the festival. Give someone a compliment, help someone, carry something, etc, and then report back to record it on a board and get a prize.

Spacestation Animation Booth

Join Spacestation Animation Studios as they walk you through fun content, games, activities, and adventures! Create and learn from animators all about their shows (A is for Addley) and educational platforms.

Help Design Tumble Town!

Help create Tumble Town, where everyone is a friend and everyone has a great story to tell. You can decorate, design, and arrange the buildings to make Tumble Town the town of our dreams!

Button Making Booth

Kids can design and make a button and enter your design in our contest to be the 2026 Tumbleweeds Film Festival official button image! Parents and guardians are encouraged to complete our festival survey while kids create their buttons.

Whether you love to watch films, want to explore the hands on activities at the Clubhouse, or do both, a day pass is your access to the Festival!

Each day pass includes the following perks: In-person films on a first come, first served basis

  • Clubhouse activities.
  • Free UTA transit to the Festival at Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center in Taylorsville
 

Each member of your group needs a pass to access Tumbleweeds. Workshops require additional registration and fee. 

Choose a Saturday day pass, a Sunday day pass, or both!
