Black, Bold & Brilliant Kids Short Film Program
Black, Bold & Brilliant team is proud to present a collection of family-friendly short films at Tumbleweeds Film Festival for Kids this year! Each short takes us on a fantastic journey, exploring Black and POC communities from the perspectives of their youngest members.
Coco Farm
After his father faces financial struggles, 12-year-old Max is forced to shut down his garage pawn shop and move to the country. The young entrepreneur rallies the help of his cousin Charles and local YouTuber Alice to start an egg farming business. The animal-friendly Coco Farm quickly becomes a major hit, but the three partners soon find themselves facing the harsh realities of an industry controlled by mega-corporations.
Dancing Queen
A 12-year-old girl falls in love with a famous dancer who moves to her town, and auditions for his crew – despite the fact that she cannot dance.
Giants of La Mancha
11-year-old Alfonso, heir to Don Quixote, and his three imaginary rabbits endeavor to save their beloved town from a huge storm. They dream the impossible dream, overcome their fears, and use their imagination to find the real force behind the storm.
Rosa and the Stone Troll
Rosa is a little insecure and dutiful flower fairy who always lived alone in her rosebush. More than anything she dreams of having a friend, but she is scared of everything and never dared to go out to the Summerland to meet one. One day the cool and adventurous butterfly Silk crosses paths with Rosa and they immediately become friends despite their differences. Silk wants to go on adventures in the Summerland and Rosa just wants to stay in her safe bush. But when Silk is kidnapped by an evil Stone Troll, Rosa has to let go of her fears and set out on a dangerous journey to save her best friend.
